How To Stop Dry Skin This Winter
Do you ever find your skin changes in winter? Maybe you’re feeling dry, tight and even irritated. Elements like low humidity, harsh winds and cold temperatures can leave your skin needing some extra love. Here are some simple steps you can follow to give your skin the best chance this winter.
Moisturise, Moisturise, Moisturise!
Dry skin hates to see a moisturiser coming! Now that it’s winter, you want to be using a thicker, richer cream or oil to really help lock in that moisture. Trap in that hydration by moisturising after your shower and don’t forget your whole body! Your skin will thank you for it.
Avoid Really Hot Showers
We know, a hot shower can solve a lot of life’s problems – but did you know it could be causing more harm than good for your skin? It can strip your skin of essential oils. So instead, try lukewarm water and pat your skin dry afterwards instead of rubbing to avoid irritation.
Exfoliate, But Not Too Often
Exfoliating is fantastic to remove dead skin cells and can leave your skin looking fresh and glowy. But over-exfoliating can cause harm, especially if you have dry skin. Make sure if you are exfoliating, that you’re only doing it once a week and using a gentle exfoliant.
